Illinois governor signs widespread abortion rights law

Illinois has just become the most progressive state in the U.S. for women’s reproductive rights.

Illinois Democratic Governor JB Pritzker signed a sweeping abortion rights bill into law Wednesday establishing the “fundamental right” for women to have an abortion.

“As a lifelong advocate for women’s right to choose, when I became governor, I promised that Illinois would become a national leader in protecting women’s rights. And with the signing of the reproductive health act, I’m keeping that promise!”

The law, which is effective immediately, protects a woman’s right to make the decision whether to continue with her pregnancy and give birth to a child, or to have an abortion.

A fertilized egg, embryo or fetus does not have independent rights under Illinois law.

It also repeals a 1975 law that punished doctors for abortion not considered necessary.

The Illinois legislation comes at a time when several states have passed anti-abortion laws this year.

PRO-ABORTION or KILLING BABIES signed into law by Chicago Democrat Governor. Chicago demographics: 14.3% Black American, 5.23%=Asian, 2.4% two or more(Mix)race, 5.97%=other race. Killing babies is racist, Chicago Democrats are eradicating the Black community.
