House passes joint resolution blocking Trump’s national emergency border plan

With the help of 13 Republicans, the Democrat-led House of Representatives passed the joint resolution to block President Donald Trump from declaring a national emergency, as a means to get 8 billion dollars of federal funding to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The resolution now heads to the Senate, where a majority of Republicans are expected to oppose it. But three Republican senators have said they will vote for the resolution. It needs 51 Senate votes to pass. There are 47 Democratic senators.

Even if the resolution passes in the Senate, President Trump has said he is prepared to veto it.

Texas is the state most directly impacted by the border wall controversy, because it shares the longest border with Mexico. President Trump also won Texas in the 2016 election.

But according to a new Quinnipiac University poll, 60 percent of Texas voters disapproved of Trump using emergency powers to fund the wall.

52 percent of voters said they don’t believe undocumented immigrants crossing the border amounts to a national emergency.

George Spadaro, a former New Jersey state legislator, now a chief negotiator with CSG law firm says whether or not the wall gets built, Trump would likely not lose his supporters’ votes in 2020.

“I don’t think he will be irreparably harmed with his supporters providing he is taking a strong stand to continue to fight the battle so to speak. And in fact that is what you are going to see him do. He’s saying to his constituents, look I’m doing everything I can as President of the U.S. You elected me to accomplish this goal and the only way I’m not gonna build this wall is if the Democrats prevent it and then make the argument that he is in good faith following through with his campaign promise.”

A coalition of 16 states has already filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration to try to block his emergency declaration.

The Senate is expected to vote on this joint resolution before March 18.

(2)Dems-Moderate this are Pelosi, Feinstein, old Democrats, BIDEN,the newly elected Dems are mostly radical left, are hard to control and will bring down Pelosi as one term Speaker of the House.(3)Democrat-Independent, HOWARD SCHULTZ Mr.Starbucks a Billionaire, already declared as 3rd Party,anti-Green New Deal, this will guaranty Trump to win on 2020. Dems votes will be split into two.Dems strategy is to bring down TRUMP rating to 30% then they will impeach him. The Media spend 100 minute airtime on COHEN, and only 10 minutes on historic meeting bet Trump and NK Kim Jun Un. Russians collusion investigation from Muller will end soon.
