House of Representatives votes to overturn President Trump’s border national emergency call

NEWARK — While President Trump works on keeping peace with North Korea as he meets with the Asian country’s leader Kim Jong Un in Hanoi, Vietnam for a second nuclear summit, a different kind of conflict is brewing back in the United States, specifically in Washington D.C.

“This isn’t about the border, this is about the constitution of the united states. This is not about politics, it’s not about partisanship, it’s about patriotism,” said Rep. Nancy Pelosi.

The Democrat-led House of Representatives voted on Tuesday on a joint resolution that would block Trump’s national emergency along the southern border.

Professor Rose Cuison Villazor, founder of the Rutgers Center for Immigration Law, policy and justice, says the facts just do not support President Trump’s argument for declaring a national emergency to fund the construction of a border wall.

“From 2016, 2017, 2018, there has been a drop in migration, perhaps there might have been an uptick of a few hundred in 2018 as one might have seen in federal government website but still there has been a downward decrease of unauthorized migration. So those numbers tell me that we don’t have an emergency, certainly not a national emergency with respect to immigration.”

The joint resolution, expected to pass the House, would need 51 Senate votes to pass. There are 47 Democrats in the Senate and 3 Republican senators have said they will vote for the resolution. This resolution, unlike the other legislations, does not need 60 Senate votes to pass.

Even if one other Republican senator votes for the resolution and it passes the Senate, Trump has vowed to veto the bill if it reaches his desk.

This political battle has prompted other officials to weigh in on the issue.

A bipartisan group of 58 former senior national security officials issued a statement telling president trump that his national emergency is not justified. The letter is intended to support lawsuits and other actions challenging the national emergency proclamation.”

But for many, across the country, this whole process is not warranted.

“The beginning of the conversation from my perspective ought to reflect accurate information so I am extremely frustrated when the statements made are just really false and plain out lies.”

If this legislative process is unsuccessful, Congress members have the option to file lawsuits.

16 states have already filed a lawsuit over the declaration. They say the declaration not only exceeds the power of the president but redirecting federal money to build the wall that otherwise would have gone to their states, is unconstitutional.

Its about politics, BORDER WALL is a campaign promised, no matter what the Democrat do, TRUMP is ready to face them in court. The Border Wall will have Trump re-elected. This suit will start at 9th Circuit Court, then it will be elevated to the SCourt. The same procedures when the Democrat tried to stop Trump on the 7 countries Moslems ban, it ended up a victory for Trump in the SupCourt.Border Wall is a win win on Trump it is for the safety of Americans. Trump started the building of the Border Wall on December and awarded 5 contractors last week to start on the sensitive areas which was recommended by the border patrol. As soon as, Trump signed the emergency declaration on the border wall, DOW stock market shoot-up from 24,000, now 26,000, there was a consumers confidence and guaranteed security and safety of American people. Trump will finished the wall before or after the election.By that time SC decision might be still pending and the wall is already built and contractors will be paid after completion.

During Bill Clinton’s time as president, the Democrats in full force gutted out the key agencies such as the FBI and CIA budget. To make sure this happened, Uncle Bill assigned a Democrat Senator to control the FBI and CIA budget tightly that cannot procure super computers. Additionally during that time, several middle eastern looking men (dressed and groomed like Hispanics) crossed the US-Mexico border, entered the U.S. to learn how to fly planes… The same story from the U.S.-Canada border, some Frenchie middle eastern men entered the U.S. and began planning their attack. All of these were ignored by Democrat but called these men crazy who’s got nothing better to do. Now, it is the same Democrats who are trying to sell America again…
