House achieves support goal for WWII Fil-Vet’s Congressional Gold Medal

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The Filipino Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2015 has now reached the required number of co-sponsors within the House of Representatives.

With the required amount of signatures in the House and the unanimous Senate vote to back in July Congress must still pass the bill so President Obama can sign it.

John Melegrito, executive secretary of FilVetRep, says Speaker Paul Ryan and the House leadership still needs the bill approved and it appears that the earliest time for any further action on the bill will be early December because of the election period.
