Honolulu City Lights brings Christmas spirit to the Hawaiian islands

HONOLULU, HI — This December, Honolulu brightened the holidays with the annual ‘Honolulu City Lights’ opening night at Honolulu Hale.

The event featured a tree lighting ceremony, electric light parade, block party, and Christmas-themed light displays at city hall and its surrounding areas.

The Honolulu City Lights started as a tree-lighting ceremony in 1985, and over the years, has evolved to include large displays such as ‘Shaka Santa’ and Mrs. Claus, or ‘Tutu Mele.’
