High school students stage rally for Fil-Am teen killed in gun violence
In Seattle, Franklin High School students staged a rally last Friday against gun violence over the death of 17-year-old Fil-Am senior Ryan Dela Cruz.
On June 2nd, Dela Cruz was reportedly ghost-hunting with friends at Seattle’s Martha Washington Park, when an altercation broke out between his group and another group. Dela Cruz was then shot and killed by an unknown assailant.
Police say that while the investigation is pending, they don’t believe Dela Cruz was targeted, nor was the incident gang related.
Reports say Dela Cruz is at least the 6th teen killed by gun violence in Seattle’s King County this year.
