A heroes’ welcome for Manny Pacquiao

A hero’s welcome and full military honors for Manny Pacquiao in his hometown General Santos City.

The plane carrying Pacquiao, his family, friends and team arrived Monday afternoon.

Officials of GenSan and Sarangani, and fans, eagerly waited to congratulate the Fighting Congressman for his victory over American boxer Chris Algieri in Macau.

From the airport, Pacquiao went straight to the parade at the downtown area, sharing a float with mommy Dionisia and GenSan Mayor Rommel Rivera. Pacquiao’s convoy passed by the City Hall before going to Sarangani.

With the Pacman’s victory over Algieri, boxing analysts say it’s about time for a Pacquiao-Mayweather megafight.

“They need this Mayweather-Pacquiao fight,” said Ronnie Nathanelsz, a boxing analyst. “One, to show the word that Mayweather is not a coward. Two, to prove that he is one of the greatest fighters of all time. If he retires after breaking records but without fighting Pacquiao, there will always be doubt on how he could be the greatest.”

Pacquiao himself says he is ready to face the unbeaten Mayweather.

Nagdala nang 350 entourage sa Macau si MPac at his own expense, including air fare, free Hotel and foods.Kasama ba diyan ang mga taohan nang Presidente at BIR.Kung hindi may kaso ka naman.BIR means (Bigay Ikaw Regalo).
