HBO short film looks into the life of Filipino overseas workers

A 10-minute short film about the life of a Filipino overseas worker is currently airing on HBO.

It is written and directed by Filipino-American filmmaker Maritte Go, who also stars in it.

The film received third place honors and part of its win is its airing on HBO, one of the most successful premium television companies in the world.

Using guerrilla filmmaking style, she and her small team of family members shot the movie while on the trip, depicting a day in a life of a Filipino cruise worker desperate to get ahold of her son in the Philippines.
