Harvard honors Filipina with Alumni Achievement Award

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Shiela Lirio Marcelo, founder and CEO of Care.com, was among the five people selected to receive Harvard Business School’s 2014 Alumni Achievement Award.

Care.com is a website that provides services to find caregivers – helping families find the care they need.

More than 11 million people from 16 countries around the world are now using the service to find help for their children, parents, pets, and homes.

Marcelo was born and raised in the Philippines.

She attended Brent School in Baguio and graduated from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts with a degree in economics. She received her MBA and JD degrees from Harvard University.
