Growing cannabis in Ontario, Canada

This is what gardening looks like at Radicle Medical Marijuana, a licensed cannabis producer for medical patients and for the Ontario Cannabis Retail Corporation.

Using state-of-the-art technology from aeroponics to hydroponics and varying light spectrums, the cannabis plants are properly nourished and monitored at different stages of their growth.

The Chief Cultivation Officer is optimistic that their advanced technology, like the phone app they use to control humidity, or their highly sustainable closed-loop water system, can revolutionize the way we grow other plants or even fruits and vegetables.  But apart from science, the art of growing cannabis depends on the cultivators.

We take a lot of the traditional way of farming, kinakantahan po namin.  I talk to these guys in kapampangan.  I personally feel any miracle plant or any medical plants.  I truly believe right now they’re alive and they’re feeling our energy,” said Vincent Villanis, chief cultivation officer.

Medical cannabis has been legal in Canada since 2001. Patients can obtain the product from a licensed producer based on their doctor’s prescription.  Yet, there’s still a lot of stigma surrounding cannabis.

Villanis believes it starts with the fear of the unknown.

According to Christine Santos (San Jose, California), the more you use Cannabis, you become dumber than the squirrel everyday and that it would only gets worst. Irresponsible people would like to say it is legal here and there or there’s still that stigma that starts from fear of the unknown? If you have been to San Francisco and walk around there, there are so many “dirt balls” out there smoking cannabis and the place smells 10X worst that a regular cigarette… Folks, Las Vegas is even 2X worst… In Stockton, California, cannabis is also affecting (penetrating) senior citizens living in apartment complex…
