LOS ANGELES — Back to work for Mercito Gesta.
Golden Boy hosted a media workout day with “No Mercy” last week.
He will take on Robert Manzanarez, a 23-year-old phenom with a 36-1 record on June 14.
This will be Gesta’s first fight at Fantasy Springs, just a couple hours away from his home in San Diego.
He accompanied fellow Golden Boy fighter Romero Duno to the ring at the same arena last month for his victory.
Gesta’s record stands at 31-2-and-2. Both of his losses have come in world title fights.
He’s hoping a big win against the up and coming prospect can lead to a third shot at a world title.
