Four Abu Sayaaf Filipinos indicted by US authorities for kidnapping

Indictment for a group of Filipino men accused of kidnapping a Filipino-American teenager and his mother.

Furuji Indama, Rajmil Jannatul, Muwaj and Abu Basim – who are believed to be members of Abu Sayaaf – have been indicted by the US District Attorney’s office in DC for kidnapping 14-year-old Kevin Lunsmann and his mother Gerfa Lunsmann in 2011.

The family from Lynchburg, Virginia claims they were held hostage by the four men while vacationing in the Philippines.

Gerfa was eventually released two months later after paying a ransom, while Kevin escaped nearly five months later.

American authorities are now focused on apprehending the four Filipinos.
