Tragic news out of Florida, where officials have identified the man who died in a fiery car crash earlier this week as 25-year-old Fil-Am officer Joshua Sanchez Montaad.
Officials say Montaad was driving his patrol car during a rainstorm on US Highway 19 in Taylor County Tuesday morning, when his vehicle traveled off the road and struck a tree.
The vehicle then caught fire. Paramedics say Montaad died before arriving at a hospital.
Montaad, who is from Safety Harbor, Florida, was a graduate of the University of Southern Florida, and served as a law enforcement officer with the Florida Department of Agriculture.
Montaad’s family has since arranged a memorial service on Saturday, June 17th, to celebrate his life.
