Filipinos react to Kavanaugh investigation delay
“The country needs to see some kind of bipartisan agreement even if the final vote isn’t any different… I just wanted some Democrats to agree that they were willing to come out and publicly say we would accept this, we would say that the process was fair.”
That’s GOP Senator Jeff Flake explaining his decision for delaying the full Senate floor vote on the Supreme Court justice nomination for a week, pending an FBI investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
The delay came after a series of dramatic events that began with professor Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony before the Senate judiciary committee – accusing Kavanaugh of sexual assault when they were teens in the 80’s.
In a tweet, Trump denies that the white house is limiting the FBI investigation only to certain people and certain witnesses
Trump said he is giving the FBI free reign to interview whoever they deem appropriate.
Red and blue Filipino-Americans in Tampa, Florida, who were glued to last week’s hearing, welcome this FBI investigation.
