Filipinos join thousands of protesters in Canada in the wake of George Floyd’s killing

VANCOUVER, BC — Thousands of protesters gathered in a peaceful rally in Vancouver on Sunday night, demanding justice for the deaths of American George Floyd and other black victims of police brutality and injustice in both the United States and Canada.

They chanted “black lives matter,” while speakers shared their experiences with racism.

Protesters also raised their fists in a moment of silence to honor the victims.

Filipino-Canadians saw the importance of showing solidarity in these types of rallies.
