Young Fil-Ams from Anchorage, Alaska are beaming with pride, as one of their own, Ives Viray, recently won this year’s Red Bull BC One breakdancing national championship against another Pinoy, Nico Castro Aguilar of Long Beach, California.
This is the second year in a row that Viray won the world-renowned breakdancing competition for “b-boys” and “b-girls,” held this weekend in Houston.
The 23-year old Viray will be traveling to India in November to represent the U.S. for the world championship.
Viray, whose parents are both from Pampanga, took to his Instagram account to thank his supporters.
“The journey getting here was crazy…It was all worth it. Thanks to all who put me in the right mind state to succeed today.”
