Filipino World War II veteran dies at 107 years old
The San Diego Tribune has reported that Filipino WWII veteran Alfred Estoche Lim passed away on October 12.
Born in Jaro, Lim lived to be 107 years old.
Lim migrated to northern California at age 18, before joining the US Army and becoming a naturalized citizen.
During WWII he was assigned to the 1st Filipino infantry regiment and volunteered for a guerrilla unit, and went on to stay on working as a civilian at Clark Air Base.
He eventually moved back to California where he worked at Naval air station Alameda, before living out his final days in San Diego.
