REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A Filipino war veteran was arrested in Oahu, Hawaii after his Filipino wife was found dead in their home last Monday, January 18.
65-year old Melita Fajotina died of stab wounds and cuts to her neck, according to the Honolulu Medical Examiner, which ruled her death a homicide.
Her husband, 65-year old Isagani Fajotina, who was in critical condition with a self-inflicted stab wound was taken to a hospital.
A second unnamed 52-year old woman was also injured, according to police.
Isagani was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder and classified the case as a murder and attempted suicide case.
Isagani works as a janitor while Melita was a nursing assistant.
Reports said the Pinoy veteran has mental issue and may have overdosed on prescription drugs.
