SAN FRANCISCO — NBA world champions the Golden State Warriors hosted their first Filipino Heritage Night of the season. However, this celebration also marked a special milestone for the team and its Filipino fan base.
“This is Filipino American Heritage Night where we’re celebrating our culture, our history, our contributions, and to be able to honor these gentlemen of the American Legion Post 510, and our Filipino veterans are special,” said Assemblyman Rob Bonta.
The Warriors defeated the Brooklyn Nets 116 to 100, without the help of all-stars Stephen Curry or Draymond Green.
Kevin Durant led all scorers with 28 points.
The next Filipino heritage night will be on Sunday, March 10th, as the Warriors take on the Phoenix Suns.
