Fil-Am Ryan Dela Cruz went the distance with Nohelin Hernandez in the co-main event of the evening of the Universal Reality Combat Championship, or URCC, at the San Mateo event center in California over the weekend.
But after a split decision, the judges gave Hernandez the victory.
“You know the last round, I felt it was kind of even. I should’ve did something different instead of just standing there and banging,” Dela Cruz said. “Thanks for supporting and thanks for coming, and I’m sorry it didn’t go my mind. So I guess next time again.”
Fil-Am Ian Dela Cuesta was not able to pull a victory in the co-main event — losing after submitting in the second round to Brady Huang.
Despite the losses of the Filipino fighters, URCC founder and CEO Alvin Aguilar said the second US-held event was a success.
