LOS ANGELES–Victory for the California’s First Filipino American state legislator and for the Filipino community. State assemblyman Rob Bonta announced that his bill AB123 passed the California State Senate on Monday.
AB123, authored by Bonta looks to include the contribution of Filipino labor leaders such as farm workers Larry Itliong and Philip Vera Cruz in the state’s public school curriculum.
The bill now makes its way to the governor’s desk before it is passed.
