Filipino family makes plea for CA hotel manager fatally shot in robbery incident

A tragedy for a Filipino family in Alhambra, California.

Michelle Chen, the manager of the Ambassador Inn Hotel, was fatally shot dead during a robbery late Friday night while on duty.

Her Filipino husband of 23 years, Armando Escandor, and their 11-year old daughter made an emotional plea on local news.

He explained that it was only the four of them living in the US, while the rest of their family are in the Philippines and China.

The assailant, who was wearing a mask during the robbery, fled the scene of the crime in an unknown direction. It is unknown if any property was taken.

The LA County Sheriff’s Department is now looking for leads.
