The U.S. Department of Labor found Rudell and Associates and its owner, Filipino Rodolfo Quiambao, guilty of violating labor laws.

In a letter sent to Quiambao, the labor department said that it had determined that Quiambao willfully failed to pay wages, as required by law, among other findings.

A civil money penalty in the amount of $176,400 was assessed. Quiambao is also ordered to pay back wages of close to $300,000 to 50 overseas Filipino workers who worked for Quiambao as engineers and drafters.

The Filipino H1B workers were fired by Rudell and Associates after the company was involved in a bribery scandal with New York power provider, Con-Ed in 2011.

    Pomoy,
