Filipino community represents at Houston’s Thanksgiving Day parade

HOUSTON, TX — The city’s diversity was on full display over the holiday break. For the first time, Filipinos were representing in Houston’s Thanksgiving parade.

The parade marked the beginning of the holiday season for many in Houston.

The Filipino community’s participation in this year a way of showcasing the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage, history and people in the televised event — and to the tens of thousands of people who lined downtown Houston to watch the colorful floats.
