EASTON, PA — Communities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey are marching in devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary as they celebrate “Flores de Mayo,” or Santacruzan.
“My favorite part of today was offering the flowers to Mama Mary and walking around the procession,” said “Reyna Elena” Kim Villavicencio.
Flores de Mayo, or May Flowers, is a month long Filipino festivity that includes a Catholic mass, procession, and pageantry.
It usually brings out millennials and children dressed as queens and kings.
The majority of the people here say Flores de Mayo is definitely a tradition worth continuing.
