REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The tornado that killed a Filipino couple in Virginia last month claimed its third victim – the couple’s 13-year-old son.

Lheandrew Balatbat, who was critically injured in a tornado at the Cherrystone Campground in Virginia last month passed away Saturday afternoon.

The young Balatbat had been in a coma at the Children’s Hospital of the Kings in Norfolk since July 24, the day the tornado hit.

His parents, Lord Balatbat and Lolibeth Ortega, who were both killed when a tree fell on them, have been laid to rest at the Holy Name Mausoleum in Jersey City a week ago.

The couple’s daughters, Lhariezha Anne and Lheanna Leigh, were also injured in the tornado.

It was this Pinoy family’s tradition to take the annual trip to Cherrystone campground to celebrate Lolibeth’s birthday.

Cherrystone family camping resort that has reopened on Aug. 1 has established a fund for the orphaned Balatbat children.

On its website, Cherrystone family resort says that all funds collected will be given to the court-appointed legal guardian of the kids.
