Filipino boxers meet with community before Superfly 3 title matches

LOS ANGELES — Donnie Nietes and Aston Palicte greeted their fans at the Filipino American Community Center, before facing off in the WBO Superfly weight championship.

Both fighters have been training in different rooms at the Wild Card gym, in preparation for the September 8th bout at the LA Forum.

This will be the ALA-promoted Nietes’ second HBO fight, after he put on knockout performance earlier this year at the Superfly 2 card.

For Palicte, this will be his first world title shot and first HBO fight.

The undercard will include even more Pinoy pride, and more belts on the line.

Fil-Australian Luisa Hawton will also take on Brenda Flores for the vacant WBC women’s title.

The “Aloha kid” Bruno Escalante was also recently added to the card. He’ll be fighting Alexander Marin for the vacant IBF intercontinental title.

I always bet for the underdog, PALICTE win by TKO on the last 2 rounds.
