PITTSBURG, CA — What started out as a heated family argument has turned into bloodshed in Pittsburg — and now, a Filipina is dead. Her own cousin has been arrested and charged with her murder.
The deadly confrontation took place at this San Francisco suburb on Monday afternoon.
Authorities said 28-year-old Kirstiene Catapusan was allegedly stabbed to death by her cousin 29-year-old Henry Brodie III, following an argument in Brodie’s home.
BA was the first to confirm that both the victim and the suspect are Filipino.
According to police reports, family members who tried to intervene, called 911. Officers found Catapusan suffering from stab wounds to her upper body.
She was rushed to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The District Attorney’s office has filed murder charges against Brodie.
Authorities said that during his interview with detectives, Brodie admitted to stabbing Catapusan multiple times.
He is being detained at a Martinez facility on a $2 million dollar bail. He was arraigned on Thursday.
