SAN FRANCISCO – “Magkasama tayo sa kwento ng Pasko” — this is the message of ABS-CBN’s Christmas Station ID for 2013. This message certainly rings true for over 12 million overseas Filipinos, many of whom could not be with their loved-ones during the holidays.

Some lucky kababayans in San Francisco got the surprise of their lives when their wishes for Christmas were granted by their favorite Kapamilya stars, during the station ID’s taping.

Filipino World War II veteran Simplicio Yoma had not spent Christmas with his children for years. He was surprised by Kapamilya star Gerald Anderson with a video greeting from his loved-ones.

“He’s really proud of his family. I saw it in his eyes. And his children are proud of him too,” said Anderson, who also comes from a military family.

Yoma expressed, “What ABS-CBN and Gerald did is a big deal for me.”

Meantime, Fidelia and Fermin Cruz got to show the world the meaning of true love. After 50 years of marriage, Fermin, who is battling cancer, got to propose again to his wife, while being serenaded by another Kapamilya star, Sam Milby.

“These kinds of couples are so extremely rate nowadays. They give us the rest of us hope,” Milby said.

Fermin remarked, “I’m thankful that they are inspired by our love.”

For these Kapamilya stars, whether through big or small ways, spreading happiness this Christmas — is simply priceless.
