Fil-Canadian’s travel book promotes the Philippine islands

VANCOUVER — Filipino-Canadian photographer Stuart Dee’s travel book, The Philippines
Rediscovered II, elicited oohs and aahs from attendees when it launched at the Vancouver Public Library.

They marveled at the book, which highlighted exotic spots in the country, as well as the day-to-day lives of Filipinos.

The updated book consists of 450 new pictures.

Dee, who migrated to Canada when he was 12 years old, says making the first volume of the book was his way of rediscovering his roots.

The travel photographer is particularly in awe of Boracay.

Kurt Aydin says Dee’s book is the best pictorial representation of the Philippines.

Aydin has been visiting the country every year.

Dee plans to create more artistic book — next on the list is El Nido and Coron.
