“It is history in the making,” Ramon Estaris expresses during his campaign as one of the MPP candidates for the Liberal Party in the forthcoming election on June 7.
A successful bid in Ontario’s political arena, according to Ramon Estaris, means he will be the first Pinoy to hold a provincial seat as MPP in Ontario.
“It’s about running the community to elect the first ever Filipino candidate sa Parliament this coming June 7, and I’m so proud of the heritage.”
The successful entrepreneur and family man is getting overwhelming support from the York Centre riding that has a huge Filipino population.
It is the same place where the popular festival The Taste of Manila is held every year – an event that Estaris successfully helped organized for several years.
“It’s not me- it’s the community that inspires me — I believe that for so long not even a single Filipino has been elected in Ontario,” he says. “It’s a history in the making the time I think it’s time for us to lead- for so long we’ve been good we are hardworking and we are very nice people.”
He is also co-founder and part-owner of Pinoy Radio, and NGTV (Net Global Television), a broadcaster based in York Centre, which creates new and original content for viewers throughout Canada and around the world.
Pinoy voters want to give him a chance.
Estaris claims their party has contributed to Ontario’s economic growth.
Their government will make tuition-free to students, raise the minimum wage for workers to $15.00 and create 100,000 new child care spaces.
He reiterates that they will continue on their responsibility to give everyone a good quality of life.
“So we are making a lot of difference in each individual in terms of the quality of life that they deserve. We work so hard so we need the quality of life na dapat natin-e-enjoy.”
Other party contenders for the same MPP post include Roman Baber for The Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Andrea Vasquez Jimenez of the New Democratic Party and ROMA LYON of the Green Party.
“This is the closest we an get to win the election on June 7 ang panawagan ko po especially ang mga nakatira sa Canada at York Centre, riding magka isa po tayo sa June 7 – kinakailangan ko po ang supporta ninyo.”
The Filipino community looks forward to an exciting election and if Estaris wins, they hope that he will fulfill his promise to serve as their voice and deliver a good quality of life that is affordable.
