LOS ANGELES–After the frenzy over Jessica Sanchez last season, Filipino viewers can again look forward to seeing Fil-Am talents on
American Idol.

Even during the audition, top 40 contestant Bryant Tadeo’s voice was already a standout. A second-rounder on the popular TV talent show, he said is proud of his talent and heritage.

“I’m back this year hoping to represent Filipinos and Hawaii and show that we have what it takes,” said Tadeo.
But many say this could be the year of a female winner. Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe tweeted that this is the best batch of female contestants ever.

This should be good news for Filipino American Jett Hermano from Seattle, Washington and 17-year-old Alaska resident Adriana Latonio who are also part of show’s top 40 contestants.

In the two-week semi-final rounds, each top 40 contestant will get one chance to impress the judges to make it to top 20 where voting will be opened to the public.
