PHOENIX, AZ — Maricopa County Department of Public Health is currently investigating a total of 12 deaths in Phoenix, since the temperatures hit record highs a couple weeks ago.
Two deaths have already been confirmed as heat-related.
According to health care officials, dehydration can easily be prevented by drinking fluids and staying out of the sun.

One Fil-Am resident is trying to make a difference for the needy the past six years. Her advocacy, hydration for the homeless, becomes personal because dehydration is one of the triggers for her disability.
Diagnosed with epilepsy since she was 12-years-old, recently crowned Miss United Continental, Rebecca Jo Acero, hands out water and care kits to the homeless in Phoenix every Fourth of July.
