REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Filipino mixed martial artist Chris Cariaso was defeated by UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson in the second round at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday night.

The fight started out in Johnson’s favor. Cariaso displayed good defense but it wasn’t enough to counter Johnson’s takedowns.

The second round saw a lot of stand-up pressure from both fighters. Johnson eventually let his hands go, delivering rapid strikes to Cariaso, before locking up his arms.

Cariaso tapped out at the 2:29 mark.

With the win, Johnson improves to 21 wins, two losses, and one draw. Cariaso falls to 17 wins and six defeats.
