Fil-Am journalist recounts being in the middle of Charlottesville violence

A young Fil-Am journalist recently wrote about his experience as a witness to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Caleb Ecarma witnessed as the white supremacists came to town, supposedly to protest the removal of Robert E. Lee’s confederate statue.

Ecarma is an intern for the USA Today opinion section, and his recent piece about his experience in Charlottesville has gone viral.

Growing up in upstate South Carolina, he is no stranger to racism — and that’s why his piece resonated to many readers.

Caleb joins BA via Skype from Washington DC to recount his experience as a first-hand witness, and to talk about how that will impact his work as a Fil-Am journalist, moving forward.

Look people it takes two to make a fight at a protest, so please don’t ever say it was the right side that made the fight, look our president Trump was 100% right that it was the 2 side that made the fight into a big one. Caleb look brother that’s what happen when you get into a protest, and that girl that was kill, shouldn’t have been there, any time you in a protest, you better watch-out. Anyone that go in to a protest, is “DUMB.” And her mother is dumb to let her daughter do the protest, she ask for it. If that girl was my daughter? I would kick her “ASS.” And I would slap her face to save her from getting “KILL.” I guess people has to learn the hard way ! Kids today has a lot to learn about “LIFE.” And parents watch you kids good don’t let them do anything “DUMB.”

You just proved the stupidity of your breed with that dumb comment. Would you rather that you get punched and beaten for your hatred?
