REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A night intended for celebration ended in tragedy when a Filipino American man was shot and killed outside of a San Jose, Calif. night club.
According to SJPD, officers had responded to an early Saturday morning report of gun fire outside the Lu Beer Club when they found 34-year-old Michael Arcega wounded by at least one gunshot.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not identified or apprehended any suspects at this time. Arcega’s sister told KTVU Fox News that they were looking forward to a family trip to the Philippines in two weeks.
Neighbors of the club reportedly complained of another incident of gunfire outside the club about three weeks ago.
Arcega’s death marks San Jose’s 24th homicide this year.
