REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A Filipino-American father living in the Philippines is vowing to sue a Cebu hospital and one of its nurses who allegedly taped up the mouth of his newborn son.

Ryan Noval, who grew up in Los Angeles, Calif., posted pictures on Facebook that show his baby with a long strip of translucent tape over his mouth.

Noval and his partner Jasmine Badocdoc say a nurse at the Cebu Puericulture Centre and Maternity House put tape across their baby’s lips because the baby was crying loudly.

Noval says the nurse even initially refused to remove the tape and ended up injuring their son’s mouth when she took it off.

The hospital says the tape was reportedly placed on the baby’s mouth to keep the pacifier from falling out.

But Noval argues his baby could have suffocated.

Noval says he will take legal action against the nurse and the hospital whether civil or criminal.

The hospital argues that this was an isolated case.

Good luck to your quest…. just getting a hearing date would probably take 2 years.
