Fil-Am community raises money for Brandon Lee’s safe return to the U.S.

DALY CITY, CA — Here at Westmoor High School in Daly City, $5 could get you a plate of lumpia, pancit, and rice, along with a bottle of water on this Thursday night.

And for a small donation — you could enjoy live performances at the theatre.

This is one of many fundraisers happening around the U.S. to help Chinese American human rights defender Brandon Lee return to the States for further medical treatment.

Last August, Lee was shot multiple times outside his home in the Ifugao province in the Philippines after he was tagged an “enemy of the state” on social media.

Family and friends here in the U.S. are doing what they can to help Lee, following his horrific ordeal.
