REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Filipino-American professional basketball history was made.
The NBA kicked off its 2014 season Tuesday night, and taking the court was Filipino-American Jordan Clarkson of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Clarkson played for 20 minutes, scoring eight points while also collecting two rebounds and four assists, as the Lakers went on to lose to the Houston Rockets 108-90.
Clarkson is the first Filipino to play in the NBA since Raymond Townsend ended his career with the Indiana Pacers in 1982.
