REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The primary election results are in for the Golden State and Filipino-American politicians took some wins and losses.

Incumbents for California Assembly Democrat Rob Bonta of District 18 and Republican Rene Pineda of District 19 are both guaranteed of moving on to the November general election.

Defense attorney and former Daly City Mayor Ray Buenaventura was defeated by court commissioner Stephanie Garratt for superior court judge.

And despite allegations of brokering an illegal weapons deal in the Philippines embattled Senator Leland Yee still placed third for secretary of state receiving 9.8 percent of votes.
