Sean Reyes, the Filipino-American Attorney General of Utah, might be in the running to lead the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the Trump administration.
According to Politico, an online news publication based in Washington D.C., President-elect Donald Trump is considering Reyes for the position.
If selected, Reyes would lead an agency that regulates business mergers and antitrust practices, including those of big tech companies such as Facebook and Google.
A spokesperson for Reyes would not confirm or deny the report, saying, “At this time, Sean has not applied for the FTC job. He has not submitted his resume for the FTC job, nor has he been interviewed for the FTC job.”
