REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – We were joined via phone by Mari Rose Turac, the chair of Berkeley-based group Filipino American Coalition for Environmental Solidarity (FACES). Turac and other members of FACES are at the UN Climate Summit in New York. She speaks to us about the Philippines’ readiness for climate disasters, temporary protected status, and her take on PNoy’s lack of time to meet with Fil-Am groups during his U.S. trip.
