REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Law enforcement agents searching for a missing 6-year-old Fil-Am girl said they’re aware that her father has a previous molestation charge against him, but their main focus now is to find the girl.

According to court records, Jenise Wright’s father James Wright was charged more than 10 years ago with molesting two girls, an 8-year-old and a 15-year-old.

Kitsap County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Wilson said authorities know about the charge but are focused on returning Jenise to her family safely.

Jenise was last seen on saturday night, but her parents waited a day to report her missing.

They told police that’s because they allow her to wander around their mobile home park alone.

Authorities say the girl’s parents have taken lie detector tests and are working with them.

“We’re hoping that she’s fine and that’s the expectation that we have,” Deputy Wilson said. “But we have to plan and execute our investigation as if it’s a worse case scenario. We only get one chance to do this right.”
