LIVERMORE, CA — Over a dozen cars, filled with the family and friends of Fil-Am nurses Monique and Lawrence Hermano, surprised the couple with a convoy around their Livermore neighborhood — celebrating the coming of the couple’s first child.
They plan on naming him Lorenzo.
Loved-ones from the San Francisco area and as far as Los Angeles came with signs and balloons.
The convoy was made even more special – with their next-door neighbor at the end of it. aboard an old-school fire truck.
The Hermanos are both nurses that have been serving on the frontlines during the coronavirus pandemic, and had to be isolated from their loved ones.
They couldn’t begin to show their appreciation to their family and friends who have supported them all throughout their pregnancy.
The theme of the drive-by baby shower was “Oh the places he’ll go!”
The Hermanos already have a love for travel which they cannot wait to share with their son.
“We traveled to Ireland and Japan, which were both of the things that we wanted to do before we got pregnant. And we were blessed enough to get pregnant on our own after 12 years of being together and we just can’t wait to travel with our little one because that’s like, one of the things we love the most,” said Monique.
And in true Filipino fashion — the Hermanos did not let their guests go home hungry.
When asked how they will one day tell their son about his first unique party — the Hermanos said this:
“How much loved he is and how much loved we are with all of our friends and family,” said Lawrence. “All these people will be around in his life and definitely will be loved.”
