REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Families of the victims of a tragic limousine fire in May have filed wrongful death lawsuits against companies they said are responsible for the vehicle malfunction that killed five women and injured four others. All victims were Filipino. They are demanding a jury trial.

More than six months ago, newlywed Neriza Fojas was celebrating her wedding with her eight friends, when the limousine they were on caught fire along San Mateo Bridge.

Fojas, along with Anna Alcantara, Felomina Geronga, Jenni Balon and Michelle Estrera lost their lives. While Amalia Loyola, Jasmin de Guia, Mary Grace Guardiano and Nelia Arellano survived.

Among the plaintiffs were Arellano, de Guia, Guardiano, Loyola, as well the families of Alcantara and Estrera.

The lawsuit said companies like Limo Stop, Inc. , Ford Motor Co., Bay Area Limousine Repair Inc., Accubuilt Inc., Accubuilt Acquisition Holdings Inc., and the DaBryan Coach Builders Inc. were responsible for the modification and maintenance of the vehicle and should be held accountable for the tragedy.

Balitang America tried to contact the families and their counsels to talk about the lawsuits. They have yet to respond.

It’s going to take a lot of money to fight Ford Motor Co, they got a lot of Money and good lawyers that can make this case go long time if they have too !
