CERRITOS, CA — A queenly reception for the Philippines’ bet for Miss Universe.
On the eve of her flight to Atlanta, Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Gazini Ganados held a meet and greet with Southern California fans.
Local beauty queens, fans and the media came to catch a glimpse of the Cebuana beauty who hopes to capture the Miss Universe crown on December 8, following the reign of fellow Filipina queen Catriona Gray.
“It’s overwhelming to know that these people praise me and support me. That really makes my heart so full.”
Ganados was joined by Miss Singapore Mohana Prabha who trained in the Philippines in the past few weeks.
Prabha said she continues to enjoy Filipino hospitality.
“It’s really great to see the Filipino people supporting their representative which Gazini and also some of them or most of them also support me as well which is very very heartfelt we don’t come from the same country but it doesn’t mean we can’t support people from other countries.”
As Gazini tries to get back to back wins for the Philippines, there will be plenty of Pinoy pride on display during the pageantry.
After working with many Philippine Beauty Queens, Olivia Quido Co’s O Skin Care is now an official sponsor of this year’s pageant.
“We are going to Atlanta Georgia December 5th to show all the beautiful ladies how to take care of their skin like to have glowing skin. I’m sure they already have beautiful skin but this is just to add and top to their natural beauties. We will teach all the judges panelists and also all the contestants on how to have beautiful skin before the show.”
“Pampering is always good because it feeds your soul it makes you feel like you’re taking care of yourself and you love yourself better than anyone else.”
During the Miss Universe swimsuit competition, Filipino designer Carmela Natividad’s G Sonsie Swimwear will also be showcased.
Meanwhile, the 23-year old Palestinian Filipina beauty queen brought about 30 outfits with her, including evening gowns and a national costume made by master couturier Cary Santiago.
