SAN FRANCISCO — If you’re a fan of Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters, then you’ve got a plane to catch at the San Francisco International Airport, via EVA Air.
Hello Kitty, along with other popular characters such as Bad Badtz-maru, Keroppi, and the Little Twin Stars are painted all over the plane.
The “Hello Kitty Hand-in-Hand” 777-300 E-R has begun flying the SFO to Taipei route twice a week, and will increase to three times a week beginning December 1st.
According to EVA officials, it was a smart business move partnering with Japan’s Sanrio company, because its characters like Hello Kitty are beloved all over the world, a having a Hello Kitty and Sanrio family-themed plane will make the traveling experience more fun for all ages.
EVA air offiicials said they expect many Filipinos on the Hello Kitty plane due to their strong relationship with Filipino passengers.
“Right now we have 33 flights from Taipei to Manila and one day flgiht from Taipei to Cebu so I think we are very popular in the Filipino market.”
