While science advocates and science enthusiasts flood the streets of cities nationwide for the “March for Science,” Las Vegas celebrates Earth Day the Sin City way.
From junk yard percussion to a fashion show, tourists and locals were treated to an afternoon of earth day festivities.
“It’s very important that everyone observes Earth Day,” says Melanie Antonio, a Fil-Am eco advocate. “Our world is getting bigger, and a lot of people everybody should recycle and just be mindful of what they’re using. We split everything up; plastics, bottles everything, you name it. Even like the plastic hangers… we recycle all of those things.”
Antonio adds that Earth Day should not just be celebrated once a year, but everyday — a daily reminder to respect and protect the planet.
