SECAUCUS, NJ – They are two of the eight celebrity performers transformed into music icons in one of the Philippines’ favorite variety show, “Your Face Sounds Familiar”. Edgar Allan Guzman, more popularly known as EA and Maxene Magalona, daughter of the late Filipino rapper, Francis Magalona, said the show gave their careers quite a boost.
EA remarked, “More opportunities came my way. It helped me so much, at the same, I enjoyed my time in the show.”
“It’s fun even after the show ended because you get to relive those moments when you do shows. You sing the same songs so it’s so much fun,” related Maxene.
EA’s Daniel Padilla impersonation was a crowd favorite, when he and Maxene recently performed during the TFC Hour at the Fiesta in America in New Jersey over the weekend. He expressed, “It feels good being a teen king!”
Kapamilya fans said they just can’t get enough of their idols.
Anita Cristobal of Passaic, New Jersey said, “That’s why we’re here. We love them!”
Clifton, New Jersey resident Marylou Jose added, “We’re gonna watch for the second season of Your Face Sounds Familiar. They really know how to perform.”
With a successful debut on Philippine TV last March, the celebrity musical competition has been renewed for a second season. While Season 2 eight celebrity contestants have not yet been officially named, these former contestants have these pieces of advice.
EA said, “If you’re enjoying, it will show in your performances. They have to take it seriously because they’re impersonating icons. They should study their moves, their voice.”
Maxene added, “It’s okay even if you get one point or whatever points you get — as long as you give your best and if you’re happy with your own performance, then that will be okay.”
Hosted by Billy Crawford with Jed Madela, Garv Valenciano and Sharon Cuneta as judges, Your Face Sounds Familiar will be back for its second season soon.
