This will be Nietes debut on HBO, and he’s eager to show his talents to a wider US audience.
“Siempre ipakita ko Yung Best ko Best performance ko magandahan talaga Ng fans dito sa US,” said Nietes.
Nietes’ promoters hope that this big matchup will lead to even bigger fights for one of the world’s top flyweights.
“To be here right now is a dream come true for him so I think this should be his biggest fight; and if he does win impressively on Saturday hopefully, we’ll see if he has to maybe stay at 112 or move up to 115,” said Michael Aldeguer, ALA Promotions.
Ahas won’t be the only Filipino in a world title fight at the LA Forum on Saturday.
